You Wrote a Book?!

I know, I know I’ve been filling your feed with news about the book launch; thank you for being gracious about all of it. Being a “self-promoter” is weird, but we hit Amazon bestseller status on day one, wahoo! (Psst - as it turns out, an author can sell like 50 copies of a book in a day and qualify as a “bestseller” at least for that day. I’m not really sure what that says about the readership of business books…)

For every book post I put into the ether, one question continually came back to me: “You wrote a BOOK?! What? When?!”

This week’s episode of Dear Abby explains the entire genesis of the book. In fact, if you missed our launch webinar, here you have it. I’m sharing the entire hour, hosted by the inimitable Nancy Martira where we cover everything from my literary journey to recent career developments to Andrew Karp and Reese Witherspoon (really).

Now, I realize nary a few of you have an entire hour at the ready. So, here’s the TL;DR.

Book excerpt:

“The ‘small’ collection was built - you guessed it - in small increments. Fifteen to thirty minutes at a time, often very early in the morning, I crafted this. I’ve done my level best to ‘write tight,’ offering short chapters, meant to squeeze into these overwhelming lives. It was written for those of us who feel like we’re holding a portion of the mantle of humanity and/or our companies and/or womanhood and/or parenthood on our shoulders and we don’t even know where to begin.”

A bit more explanation:

The fact is, this effort took four-plus years to manifest. I have navigated self-doubt, professional role changes, and more on this journey. Now, I have a window in which I can release this into the world without any corporate review or edits. So, here we go. I hope you check it out; when you do, leave a review and LMK what you think.
