AI Visibility … As a gift you give yourself?
My house smells like new pink erasers and college-ruled paper right now. It’s divine.
The kids head back to school this week and as I was looking at last year’s first day picture, I paused. It’s wild how much they have both grown, how their interests have (or haven’t) changed, and how flipping amazing they continue to be. (No cap.)
Every fall, we talk about how this time next year they’ll know a whole lot more. They’ll be taller. More independent. Better at whatever they put their mind to. And it’s with that in mind I wanted to offer this little tidbit to everyone headed back to school (or into the “back half” of the work year).
This week, I’m sharing a tip from my friend Rachael McQuater, who recently offered a supremely good “human in the loop”-type idea.
While the idea of a keeping a “wins doc” isn’t a new one, her AI-forward approach is so.dang.smart. (If you’re unfamiliar, a “wins doc,” is a little folder or place you can put your wins, shout-outs, virtual high fives, and other things that make you smile when you’re having a rough day.)
You see, Rachael has AI keep her wins for her. (!) And, she doesn’t just tap the file when she needs a pick-me-up, she refers to it during her annual review to help her make more money. (!!)

She wrote about it here. When I asked her if I could share with all of you, she didn’t gatekeep, and in fact took it a step further saying, “I’m really interested in the ways that AI can help fill gaps in the places that women tend to be under-appreciated just because of a lack of documentation.” (Amen, sister!)
All of this to say, whether you’re looking at the next school year or the next two quarters, make sure you’re schooling your AI on your “wins.” Here’s to a great year (or remainder of the year) ahead.

ChatGPT introduced a product for teens yesterday and almost as soon as the news hit, I started receiving texts about it. Rest assured, the CTP crew will test-and-learn on it, and we’ll incorporate thoughts into a future edition. For now, safe to say that teens will likely be as impressed with it as they are with my use of slang. (Again, no cap.)
